Blue stars in a colorful environment
IC 2395 is an open cluster of Trumpler type II3p in the constellation Vela. The brighter stars are all B-type main sequence stars. The nebular filaments are part of the Vela Supernova Remnant, whose origin was a supernova about 12,000 years ago.
